Ex-Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has returned to his former club, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, in England for a coaching course.
The Premier League side confirmed welcoming back its former employee at Compton Park for a coaching internship.
Wolves FC coach Vitor Pereira and his coaching staff invited the Nigerian "to watch one of their training sessions, before getting the chance to work with the Under-21s later this week.”
Ikeme has since told the club’s media that this is the right time for him to venture into coaching.
The 38-year-old spent his entire career at Wolves, featuring in 207 games across all competitions.
The Nigerian was part of Wolves’ squad that won the Championship in 2009 and League One in 2014, and made one Premier League appearance in 2012. He retired from professional football prematurely after suffering from cancer.
The towering keeper was born and bred in England but represented the Super Eagles between 2015 and 2016. He made 10 appearances between the sticks for the Super Eagles before the disease cut short his career.
