Exclusive: Ibenge will be the highest-paid coach in the region, arrives to Azam FC on Friday

Florent Ibenge

Pan Africa Football can confirm exclusively that a full agreement is now in place for Congolese coach Florent Ibenge to take over as head coach of Azam FC.

According to a top source inside the Tanzanian club, Ibenge is expected to arrive in Tanzania this Friday to officially sign his contract and begin his tenure.

The deal will see Ibenge sign a two-year contract, and he will be accompanied by 3 assistants as part of his technical team.

The same source told Pan Africa Football that Ibenge will become the highest-paid coach in East and Central Africa.

This move highlights the significant work being done by Azam FC’s management behind the scenes, especially as the club prepares to compete in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. Securing a coach of Ibengé’s caliber reflects the club’s ambition to make a strong impact on the continental stage.

Florent Ibenge brings much experience to Azam FC, having managed several top teams and a national side across Africa. His previous roles include stints with RS Berkane (Morocco), Al-Hilal Omdurman (Sudan), AS Vita Club (DR Congo), and the DR Congo national team.

Ibenge boasts an impressive trophy cabinet, having won the CAF Confederation Cup, the Moroccan Throne Cup, and the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
