Orapa United coach Mogotsi Teenage Mpote has downplayed Saturday’s FNB Premiership meeting with his former employers Township Rollers, saying he would not be motivated by feelings of revenge.

The soft-spoken coach spoke to Pan Africa Football when asked about United’s preparedness for the league encounter at Itekeng Stadium.

“Not at all,” Mote said when asked whether he would be itching for revenge after Rollers dumped him after a few games into the season.

The Popa coach insisted that he was focusing on his team to get the maximum points, adding that “the mood is high and no injuries.”

United, lying in 10th place 19 steps behind the leaders Rollers, are smarting from a home 2-1 loss to Security Systems FC last weekend whereas Rollers beat VTM by a similar margin.

The Ostriches hired Mpote, who Rollers let go last month, after parting ways with coach Tiiso Gadimang. Gadimang took over the team in a caretaker role managing just one win in 10 games of three draws and six losses.
