Khama Billiat’s agent has revealed exclusively to Pan-Africa Football why the winger passed up an opportunity to join a South African club and penned for Zimbabwe’s elite league rookies, Scottland FC.
Godfrey Bakasa confirmed that the 34-year-old had offers from Zimbabwe and South African clubs, but he decided it was in his best interest to accept a two-year deal from Scottland.
“[He] chose Scottland because they had the best offer that matched up with other foreign offers we had within,” he told Pan-Africa Football.
The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns award-winner is Scottland’s second biggest signing this transfer window after 2024 Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League Footballer of the Year, Walter Musona, who has joined from champions Simba Bhora FC.
Billiat, who opted against extending his contract with Kaizer Chiefs, spent last season at Yadah FC until December 31, 2024, when his contract ended.
The blonde-haired midfielder revived his career at Yadah, finishing as the second leading league scorer and helping Zimbabwe to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
