Express, Maroons eye home boost as UPL matchday six kicks off

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League matchday six kicks off with two thrilling fixtures as Maroons and Express look to capitalize on home advantage when they face URA FC and Mbarara City respectively.

In Luzira, Maroons will be determined to bounce back to winning ways and secure their first home victory of the campaign. The Prison Warders have so far managed only one home outing a draw against Calvary and will be eager to deliver for their faithful supporters.

Maroons hold a strong record at home against URA FC, remaining unbeaten in their last six meetings in Luzira. They also triumphed 2-1 in the corresponding fixture last season, courtesy of goals from Baden Mujahid and Brian Omirambe.

However, the visitors come into this encounter on a high after picking up their first win of the season, edging UPDF FC 3-2 in Nakivubo. With seven points to their name, another victory for Alex Isabirye’s side could propel the Tax Collectors into second place on the log.

Later under the Nakivubo floodlights, Express FC and Mbarara City two sides searching for form — will lock horns in what promises to be a tense showdown.

Express are desperate to halt their poor run, having gone four games without a win since their opening-day triumph over UPDF. On the other hand, Mbarara City are still chasing their first victory of the season and will view this fixture as a potential turning point.

With both teams craving a confidence-boosting result, the late-night clash at Hamz Stadium is expected to produce fireworks.
