Bechem United have a tall mountain to climb in the MTN FA Cup round of 64 when they travel to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park against local foes, Aduana FC on Wednesday.
The Hunters’ squad has seen some revitalization under new coach Kobina Amissah who led them to pick a point against Medeama in the week 11 Ghana Premier League fixture last weekend.
Ahead of the crunch encounter at Dormaa, Bechem United head coach, Kobina Amissah remains confident of weaving past Aduana.
“Every match is a crucial match. We will correct our mistakes to up our performance. If we are able to do that, it will help us in both the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup. For now, everyone is underrating us because of our performance,” Kobina Amissah told Bechem United TV.
“But we are also correcting our mistakes, and the performance of the players will improve. This is also a knockout match, so we are determined to eliminate them and come back home happy.”
Bechem United goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu has disclosed that their ambition in this season’s MTN FA Cup is to reach the final and fight to lift the title.
“There is no pressure on us. In the history of Bechem United, we have won the trophy before. The fans cherish the trophy, and so this season we want to go far and, if possible, reach the final to fight for the trophy,” Asiedu said.
“Whatever we have done wrong in the previous matches, we are correcting them to ensure we do better in the upcoming games.”
The MTN FA Cup Round 64 encounter between Aduana FC and Bechem United will kick off at 3 pm at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.
The winner advances to the round of 32 and Bechem United will eye a win at all costs to placate their fans who have been distraught over the club’s poor run of form in the Ghana Premier League fixture.
Bechem United are 16th on 10 points with Aduana leading the league table on 23 points from 11 games.
