Senegalese striker Ismaïla Sarr has made a bold declaration that his Crystal Palace will win the FA Cup at the expense of overwhelming favourites Manchester City on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The forward told Palace Television that no one in the Eagles' camp doubts the prospects of shocking Pep Guardiola's team in the final at Wembley Stadium.
“Everybody in the team, the manager… Everybody needs to win this final. I'm working hard every day. I know it's not easy, but in my mind, we’re going to win this final," he said.
Sarr admitted that Palace would not have a stroll in the park against City, who also do not want to wind up the season trophyless.
“Yeah, Palace have never won this Cup, but maybe this is the first time. It's the moment, the win. The team is working for the win in this final – for one trophy for the Palace,” he added.
The forward said he hopes to build on the double he registered in the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in the semifinal on April 26, 2025. That emphatic win paved the way for a date with the former Premier League champions in the final.
