Omar Marmoush and Manchester City have not enjoyed a successful season by their high standards but last season's Premier League champions will compete for the FA Cup trophy after Sunday's 2-0 semifinal victory over Nottingham Forest at Wembley Stadium.

The Egyptian whipped in an excellent corner kick to find Joško Gvardiol who headed past Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels to put City beyond reach early in the second half. Rico Lewis previously put City ahead inside two minutes with a low strike.

City will now resume their quest to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season with matches against Wolves at home followed by a trip to face Premier League bottom side Southampton. They will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on May 17 before concluding their Premier League fixtures against Bournemouth and Fulham.

Marmoush has started the last six matches for City, providing three goals and an assist during that stretch. He has 7 goals and 1 assist in 17 appearances across all competitions since joining City in January.
