Manchester City needed to dig deep on Sunday after the reigning English Premier League champions fell behind to AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
However, a second half revival launched City into the final four and Egyptian superstar Omar Marmoush provided the match winner soon after coming on as a substitute. Erling Haaland equalized early in the second half before coming off for Marmoush, who finished from a Nico O'Reilly assist two minutes later.
The difficult times continue for City in league play where they are currently in fifth position. However, the FA Cup is providing a good distraction from their league misfortunes. City will face Nottingham Forest in the semifinals on April 26.
Marmoush has scored in his last two matches for City and now has 5 goals in 11 appearances across all competitions.
