Fashion Sakala is enjoying a rich vein of form in the Saudi Pro League after a disappointing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations outing with the Zambia national team. The pacey forward provided a goal and an assist in Al Fayha’s 3-0 victory over bottom side Al Najma on Thursday.

The Chipolopolo poacher opened the scoring with a powerful strike from distance before setting up Jason Remesiro for his club’s third goal early in the second half. Remisiro set up Saudi Arabia U-17 national team star Sabri Dahal for the second goal shortly before halftime.
Sakala continues to thrive in the Saudi top tier with a club that typically has opportunities to exploit space on the counter-attack against the league’s big spenders. The former Rangers FC forward’s goal was a good example of that with the Zambian having room to run at the heart of the Al Najma defense before unleashing a blast that left goalkeeper Victor Braga with little chance.
His second goal contribution of the day came in similar “fashion”. Receiving the ball on the left wing where he was isolated with a defender, Sakala showed his flashy dribbling skills to create space and square a hard low cross for Jason to apply the finish.

The Zambian, who began his professional career in his native country with Nchanga Rangers and Zanaco FC, now has 7 goals and 3 assists in 18 Saudi Pro League appearances. After a decline in production last season, he appears set for a bounceback campaign.
Al Fayha are now in 11th place on the 18-team Saudi Pro League table and face a daunting obstacle next Friday when they travel to face defending champions Al Ittihad.
