Ghana forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has become one of the poster boys of Leicester City despite their struggles in the English Championship this season.
The 21-year-old recovered from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury and quickly settled into the squad of the former English Premier League champions.
“Maybe he will be one of the Abedi Pele’s we’ve never seen since the legend.”

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the former Steadfast and Dreams fc winger has amassed 33 league matches with 8 goals and seven assists but that still leaves the Foxes in 22nd on the league table with 34 points from 34 games.
Hamza Mohamed, who earned 27 caps for Ghana, believes Fatawu Issahaku is the next big thing that will happen to the Black Stars.
“He is a great talent. We are just privileged to have such a talent on our team,” Hamza Mohammed told TV3.
“A young guy who is doing very well for himself and the country. We just pray for injury-free for him. I believe he should be the one that we should look for in the World Cup that we are going.”
“Fatawu and the likes are the future of the Black Stars. So just hope and pray for an injury-free him.
“And who knows? Maybe he will be one of the Abedi Peles that we’ve never seen since the legend left the game.”
Fatawu Issakau, who played a key role in Ghana U-20’s 2021 continental triumph in Mauritania, has 25 senior caps with two goals.
The former Sporting Club Portugal forward is expected to be an important member of coach Otto Addo’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, USA and Mexico when they face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
