FC Samartex appoint Christopher Ennin as new coach for the rest of the season

Ghana Premier League club FC Samartex have announced Christopher Ennin as their new head coach for the rest of the season.
A statement from the club obtained by Pan-Africa Football read in part: “Chris is our man. We are delighted to confirm that Christopher Ennin has agreed to become the club’s new head coach.”
Born on 22 April 1982 in Ghana, Ennin attended the University of Cape Coast in the West African nation where he studied commerce. He operated as a goalkeeper and played for Thai side Super Power Samut Prakan FC.
He obtained a CAF A License and has been regarded to prefer the 4-3-3 formation. He managed Thai side Sakaeo FC while in 2019, he was appointed manager of Swazi side Denver Sundowns FC.
In 2020, he was appointed manager of Swazi side Mbabane Swallows FC and was tasked with helping the club achieve qualification for the Caf Champions League. In 2022, he was appointed manager of Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea FC and was regarded as one of the most tactical managers in the Ghanaian top flight while managing the club.
In 2024, he was appointed manager of Swazi side Moneni Pirates FC before his latest appointment with Samartex. Ennin joins the Timbers when they are sitting 10th on the 18-team league table with 17 points from 14 matches. They have managed four wins, five draws and five defeats.
His first match will be against Nations at Nsenkyire Sports Arena on December 29.
