The Federation of Mozambique Football (FMF) has challenged the Mambas to deliver the goods at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Morocco.
FMF president Feizal Sidat said this when he addressed the squad before its departure for Portugal camp training on Monday.
The Mambas are camping in the European country before proceeding to Morocco for the AFCON finals.
Ahead of the trip to Europe, Sidat addressed the Mambas.
“The Federation is working, believes in the group and wants the best possible result at CAN 2025,” he said
He urged the Mambas to ensure a winning start to the tournament, which will stretch from December 21 to January 18 2026.
“We will accompany the team with confidence, dedication and ambition to surprise,” the statement reads.
Coach Chiquinho Conde’s men will get their AFCON up and running against Ivory Coast on December 24 2025.
Mozambique will compete in Group F against the AFCON holders, Gabon and Cameroon.
