Egyptian side Haras El Hodoud has been ordered by world football governing body FIFA to compensate Ethiopian right-back Henok Adugna for the unlawful termination of his contract. The former Saint George player spent half of the 2024/25 season with the North African side before departing due to a contractual disagreement and without making any appearances.

Haras El Hodoud signed Adugna during the summer transfer window following the expiration of his contract with Ethiopian side Saint George. After barely making any appearances in the top flight and facing unpaid salaries, he left the club and now plays for Ethiopian side Mekele 70 Enderta.

The FIFA Football Tribunal ordered Haras El Hodoud to pay the player $12,197.19 USD (608,448.50 Egyptian Pounds) plus 5% interest as outstanding remuneration. The club has also been ordered to pay $94,926.54 USD (4,735,345.50 Egyptian Pounds) as a compensation fee for breach of contract. All necessary payments must be made within the next 45 days. Failure to comply with the verdict will result in a transfer ban for Haras El Hodoud.

Adugna is a three-time Ethiopian Premier League winner with Jimma Aba Jifar and Saint George.
