FIFA U20 qualifier: Nigeria to host Senegal in Ibadan

Nigeria will host the first leg of their third-round FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Senegal at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, February 7th.

The team aims to maintain their perfect 100% appearance record in the tournament’s history.

The Falconets, who are led by Head Coach Moses Aduku, have been in camp for several weeks. The sessions have been highly productive, with all invited players present and responding positively to training and friendly matches.

Reports indicate that Aduku is keeping the two-time FIFA World Cup silver-medalists focused entirely on the upcoming qualifier, emphasizing the need for a commanding result on home soil.

The return leg is scheduled for Saturday, February 14th, in Dakar, Senegal. The winner of the Nigeria-Senegal aggregate will advance to the final round of the qualifying series to face either Guinea-Bissau or Malawi for one of Africa’s four tickets to the global showpiece.

Nigeria, who famously reached the semifinals of the World Cup in Japan in 2012, are scheduled to travel to Ibadan on January 27th to finalize their preparations.

The 12th edition of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup will be staged in Poland from September 5th to 27th, 2026.
