FIFA shocks Zamalek again with sixth transfer ban!

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has officially imposed a new transfer ban on Zamalek SC, marking the club’s sixth registration suspension. The latest update appeared on FIFA’s official platform that tracks transfer sanctions, confirming that Zamalek is now banned from registering new players for the next three transfer windows.

This penalty adds to a growing list of sanctions issued against the club in the recent weeks due to unresolved financial disputes and overdue payments in several FIFA cases. The sequence of penalties includes:

  1. November 3, 2025 – Transfer ban until payment (first case).
  2. November 3, 2025 – Transfer ban until payment (second case).
  3. November 3, 2025 – Transfer ban until payment (third case).
  4. November 6, 2025 – Transfer ban until payment.
  5. November 24, 2025 – Transfer ban for three windows.
  6. December 3, 2025 – Transfer ban for three windows (latest sanction).

With multiple unresolved cases accumulating and the club failing to meet the financial commitments, FIFA reinstated the transfer ban as a disciplinary measure to enforce payment compliance.

The latest FIFA ruling adds further pressure on the club’s management, as the inability to register new players could significantly impact squad planning for the domestic and continental competitions until the end of the season.

Despite these administrative challenges, Zamalek continues its competitive run on the field. The team currently sits fourth in the Nile Egyptian League standings with 22 points, and holds second place in its CAF Confederation Cup group after two matches.
