Rivers United coach Finidi George has declared that his Nigerian team is ready to face Black Bulls FC in Mozambique on Saturday.
The Nigerian champions take on their Mozambican counterparts in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round match in Maputo.
Speaking during a press conference, the Super Eagles’ legend said he was not concerned that his side is playing away.
“We are ready for the challenge. We are looking forward to an impressive game. I think at this point it does not matter whether you are playing at home or not. I know it is going to be a tough game as both teams would want to get to the group stage,” George said.
The Nigerian added that he knows Black Bulls from last season when they faced Enyimba FC.
“It is the same philosophy from last season where they played against Enyimba. We have this information…we have an idea of what they are capable of doing. In football, you never know what can happen…It doesn’t really matter whether you play home or away, it is going to be a difficult game,” George added.
Last season, Black Bulls lost 2-0 to Zamalek in the first leg before holding Al Masry to a one-all draw and then stunning Enyimba 3-0, with the Nigerians getting their revenge with a 4-1 win in the reverse fixture.
