Pyramids FC striker, Fiston Mayele has revealed that his best goal of the season came against South Africa giants Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League semifinals.

Mayele guided one of the biggest forces of the Egyptian Premier League to the finals of the CAF Champions League. The DR Congolese striker was the standout performer, scoring twice in Pyramids' 3–2 aggregate win over the Buccaneers.

The 30-year-old spoke to Kora Plus: "My most important goal was against Orlando, especially the second goal in the final minutes — it wasn’t an easy goal and was decisive in securing our place in the final."

Speaking about the upcoming clash against Sundowns, Mayele said: "I feel incredibly happy. It’s a dream come true to be able to play in the CAF Champions League final. "It's the first time for me and the team, and I think it’s fantastic that we get to play this match for the fans and the club.

"We want to write our names into the history of Pyramids. We’ll enjoy that night, but the main goal is to win. We are preparing with full strength for the match against Sundowns. Once that’s over, we’ll think about our remaining league match against Ceramica."

The first leg of this season's Champions League final takes place this weekend, with Mamelodi Sundowns hosting Pyramids FC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, 24 May at 15:00.

Sundowns eliminated Al Ahly in the semi-finals, while Pyramids overcame Pirates to advance to the final.
