Football Kenya Federation (FKF) have promised to keep their relationship with Tanzanian-based pay TV Channel Azam TV in a move they said is aimed at promoting Kenyan football.
Azam TV is an East African direct broadcast satellite service owned by Bakhresa Group and based in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Launched in 2013, the service provides audio, radio and television channels services to subscribers, mostly in Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Kenya.

In Kenya, Azam TV currently airs live FKF Premier League matches across the country. According to FKF President Hussein Mohammed, the deal with Azam TV will remain as they look forward to elevate the league’s profile and success.
“We held another productive meeting with our League Title Sponsors SportPesa, led by the Global Head of Sponsorships Allan McTavish,” Mohammed told Pan-Africa Football.
“Our discussions focused on forging a unified approach to propel the league forward, enhance competitiveness, and address critical challenges impacting the development of Kenyan football including infrastructure.
“SportPesa’s steadfast commitment to Kenyan football is truly commendable, and we look forward to our collaborative efforts to elevate the league’s profile and success.”
Mohammed added: “We engaged in strategic discussions on marketing, optimizing broadcast efficiency, and increased visibility.
“We appreciate Azam TV’s steadfast commitment to Kenyan football and their efforts to expand our league’s reach. We will continue working closely with Azam TV to elevate our league, aiming to position it amongst Africa’s premier leagues.”
Issuing a statement after the meeting, Azam TV said: “We discussed at length the shared objectives towards the continued growth and development of the top league, and shared ideas on strengthening structures, improving competition standards, and creating more opportunities within the game.
“Azam Media Group reiterated the support to elevate the game, and we are excited about the direction and what lies ahead for Kenyan football.”
Gor Mahia is currently topping the FKF Premier League with 43 points from 20 matches, and they are followed by rivals AFC Leopards, who have garnered 37 points, but they have played one match less.
