FKF Cup Draw: Gor Mahia to face Kariobangi Sharks in quarterfinals

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions Gor Mahia have been drawn to face Kariobangi Sharks in the quarterfinals of the FKF Cup.

According to the draw conducted on Monday, K’Ogalo, who qualified from the Round of 16 after defeating Bandari FC 2-0 away at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, will play away in the last eight fixture. Sharks reached the stage following a 3-1 win against Denmak FC.

In the other quarter-final clash, defending champions Kenya Police FC, who eliminated Kapenguria United, will face either Compel or AFC Leopards or Mara Sugar, while Murang’a Seal will confront Ulinzi Stars in an all Premier League clash. After ousting Shabana FC following a 1-0 win, Kakamega Homeboyz will face Nairobi United away.

Meanwhile, Shabana have lodged a formal protest with the FKF Leagues and Competitions Department following what the club termed as biased and poor officiating during their FKF Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 16 clash against Homeboyz on Sunday.

According to Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama, the match, which Tore Bobe lost 1-0, was marred by questionable decisions, including a disallowed late goal by Dennis Okoth, which sparked outrage among players and fans alike.

Shabana's formal protest to FKF.

Their demands in the letter seen by Pan-Africa Football as per Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama include;

1. An immediate and transparent review of the officiating in the Shabana FC vs Kakamega Homeboyz match, with particular attention to the disallowed goal by Dennis Okoth.

2. Disciplinary measures against the match officials involved, if found guilty of negligence or bias.

3. A formal assurance from FKF that urgent steps are being taken to restore faith in officiating and protect the integrity of our competitions.

4. In the spirit of fairness and integrity, we strongly urge the governing body to recall and order a replay of the fixture, as the match outcome was fundamentally influenced by unjust officiating.
