AFC Leopards will seek to bounce back to winning ways when they take on struggling Kenya Police in an FKF Premier League fixture on Sunday.

Ingwe suffered their fourth defeat of the season after going down 2-1 against Shabana at Gusii Stadium on Wednesday to dampen their hopes of winning the league title.

The defeat against Tore Bobe, who scored through Brian Michira, left Ingwe in ninth position with 11 points from nine matches and pressure is mounting on coach Tomas Trucha to turn their season around.

AFC Leopards are winless in the last four matches, their last win coming on September 29 when they defeated Nairobi City Stars 2-1. They have since drawn 1-1 against Kariobangi Sharks, lost 1-0 against Murang’a Seal, lost 2-0 against Ulinzi Stars before the 1-1 draw against promoted side Mara Sugar.

Against Police, Ingwe will face another struggling side, who have managed one win from seven matches and are sitting second from the bottom of the 18-team league table. Last season, the two sides met thrice, in the league and the FKF Shield Cup. In the league, they drew 2-2 in the first round meeting before Ingwe won the reverse fixture 1-0.

In the Shield Cup, Police gunned down Ingwe 1-0 to reach the final where they defeated KCB 8-7 on penalties to lift their maiden trophy and a ticket to CAF Confederation Cup.

After returning to winning ways following their 1-0 victory against Kakamega Homeboyz, record league champions Gor Mahia will strive to make it two wins out of two when they face Mara Sugar.

Mara Sugar, who are second with 16 points from 10 matches, lost to Tusker 2-1 on Wednesday and will also be keen to bounce back. Meanwhile, Tusker, who won 2-1 against Mara, will face Murang’a Seal.

Other matches on Saturday will see FC Talanta face Posta Rangers, who beat Bidco United 3-1 on Wednesday, leaders KCB tackle Bidco United while Nairobi City will host Bandari, who beat Homeboyz 2-0 in Ukunda.
