Kenya Police custodian Patrick Matasi has refused to press the panic button despite the team’s poor start to the current FKF Premier League season.
The law-enforcers are currently lying in the relegation zone as they have managed one win from their last seven matches. Thy have garnered eight points accumulated from one win, five draws and one defeat.
Despite the poor run of results, Matasi, who has also played for AFC Leopards and Posta Rangers in the Kenyan top-flight, is not getting concerned insisting they will start to win matches and catch up with the leading teams.
“We have won a game (against Mathare United) but every season, we always start the season in a slow pace, we don’t get the maximum points especially the first five matches but at least after the first draw, the second draw the second game against Mathare we got three points,” Matasi told Pan-Africa Football.
“So for me I think it is a marathon and we have only playted seven matches and we still have 27 games to play, so for me I think in Kenyan league if you want to win the league, just win 21 matches, draw seven then lose the rest, no problem…you will be a champion.
“I believe there is nothing lost because at least we are getting a point which is a plus and this point is going to count when at the closing stages of the league.”
The law-enforcers will next face AFC Leopards on Sunday.
