Kenya Police FC will move eight points clear at the top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League table if they manage to secure a win against Bandari at Mbaraki Sports Club on Friday.

The law enforcers, who are chasing for their first-ever league title, will face the Dockers knowing that a win will take them to 58 points, eight more than second-placed and record champions Gor Mahia, who have accumulated 53 points.

In the history of the league, this will be the seventh meeting between the two sides with Police enjoying a better record against their opponents as they have only lost once.

In the first round of this season, Police hammered Bandari 3-0 while last season, Bandari picked their only win against Police after a 3-2 outcome from their first rounding meeting before the reverse fixture ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the previous campaign, the first round meeting ended in a 0-0 draw before Police secured a 3-0 win in the second round battle. While Police are topping the log, Bandari FC are placed eighth with 40 points from 29 matches.

Police coach Etienne Ndayiragije is aware of the pressure his side his facing insisting they will have to be calm and do their work. “Everyone is looking at Police, they want to see how we perform because we are leading the log, but I have asked my players to stay humble and do their job in the field,” the Burundian coach told Pan-Africa Football.

The league will continue on Saturday with Tusker taking on Murang’a Seal, Mathare United hosting Kakamega Homeboyz, Sofapaka playing at home against Kariobangi Sharks while Posta Rangers coming up against Bidco United.
