Power Dynamos have confirmed the acquisition of Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shumah on a two-year contract as they prepare to defend the 2025/26 MTN-sponsored Zambian Premier League (ZPL) and feature in the CAF Champions League.

Shumah leaves Homeboyz following his superb performance in the just-concluded Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League, where he finished as the top scorer with 17 goals.

"We welcome Moses (Shumah). He joins Dynamos from Kenya's Kakamega Homeboyz on a two year permanent deal," Dynamos revealed on their social media pages.

The departure of Shumah could be a big headache for Kenya national team Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy as he had already named the player in his provisional squad for the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in August.

By virtue of putting pen to paper at Dynamos, it means Shumah is not playing in the local league and will thus not be eligible to represent Harambee Stars during the tournament. The CHAN tournament is exclusively for players who feature in their respective local leagues.

Apart from Shumah, Dynamos have signed central defender Samuel Ayodeji Bamidele, who joins the Aba Yellow from Nigeria’s Shooting Stars SC, while Innocent Kashita, an attacking midfielder from Nkwazi FC, has also joined the team.

Kashita was the runner-up in the Betway Player of the Season awards, narrowly missing out to Owen Tembo. His creativity and vision on the field will be invaluable to Dynamos' midfield.

The other new signings include Daniel Adoko, a midfielder from NAPSA Stars, and Ronnel Manyanga, a Zambian right winger who played in the Botswana Football League.

Meanwhile, there have also been departures. Players who have left the club include Faustine Bakodila, Changwe Shikilwa, Stanley Lwamba and Jacob Kaunda, due to contract expiry.
