As Tusker prepares for their three remaining matches of the season, they have suffered a blow after forward John Njuguna underwent an operation on Saturday.
According to the club, who are chasing for the 2024/25 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title, Njuguna was forced to face the knife to repair a medial meniscus tear.
“Wishing a quick recovery to our forward John Njuguna who has undergone surgery on a medial meniscus tear,” confirmed Tusker in a statement on their social media pages. “Get well soon Njugush.”
The latest injury means the Brewers will have to navigate their remaining matches of the season minus the talisman, who has been key to their success this season. The Brewers are currently sitting second on the 18-team league table with 55 points from 31 matches.
They are three points behind table leaders Kenya Police, who have garnered 58 points, and two points ahead of defending champions Gor Mahia, who have amassed 53 points, though they still have one game in hand.
Tusker’s remaining matches will see them face Sofapaka on Saturday, host Kariobangi Sharks, before winding up against Kakamega Homeboyz, in a tricky away fixture at Mumias Complex.
