Fluminense head coach Renato Gaucho has revealed his concerns about meeting ‘dangerous’ Mamelodi Sundowns in their final Group F fixture of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday.

Masandawana go into the match following their thrilling 4-3 defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday. They won their opening game 1-0 against Ulsan HD.

Despite not winning the game, Sundowns’ performance against Dortmund has given Gaucho some worries heading into the fixture, which could decide who qualifies for the knockout stages.

“A difficult, very dangerous game. We will prepare in the same way we have prepared since we arrived,” he told Terra Brasil. “We have to be as careful as we were against Borussia. Without the ball, we will take defensive precautions. With the ball, we will play and look for the goal.

“We respect our opponents, but we know our potential. We will try to neutralize their main plays, but we will play looking for the goal.”

Ahead of the fixture, Fluminense and Sundowns are tied on four points. The Brazilians won their opener 4-2 against Ulsan HD after securing a 0-0 draw against Dortmund.
