Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tebogo Potsane has officially signed a deal with Siwelel FC on a free transfer for the 2025/26 season.

He joins the Betway Premiership newbies Siwelele after cutting ties with Chiefs at the end of last season.

The club, which bought the PSL status of SuperSport United, announced the signing on social media on Friday, welcoming the 31-year-old.

“Tebogo Potsane is Green and White. Welcome home, Taba Taba Ke Mmala.” Potsane will wear the number 16 jersey.

Potsane’s two-year tenure at Chiefs was hindered by injuries and a lack of playing time as the attacker made only 19 appearances across all competitions. He struggled to make an impact with the Soweto giants, failing to score a single goal and providing just two assists.

His move to Siwelele FC marks a return to his roots, as he previously played for the club when it was known as Bloemfontein Celtic. He joins a list of new signings, including Buhle Mkhwanazi, Relebogile Mokhuoane, Thabo Makhele, and Wayde Lekay.

Siwelele FC, who began their season with a dominant 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows, has since faced a series of setbacks. The team has suffered three consecutive losses to Orbit College, Polokwane City, and TS Galaxy, respectively.

In their most recent game on Friday, where Potsane also made his debut, Siwelele played to a goalless draw against Richards Bay FC in the league at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
