Former Sundowns striker lands coaching job in Eswatini

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Dario Monteiro has landed a coaching job with Mbabane Swallows in Eswatini.

The seven-time Eswatini Premier League champions unveiled the ex-Mambas forward on Saturday. News oulets in Eswatini report that Monteiro has penned a two-year contract with Swallows

Speaking after his unveiling, the former Mozambique under-17 national team coach said he was looking forward to the challenge of working for the Eswatini football giants.

He said: “Football is about playing the ball. Football in Eswatini is not different from that of Mozambique. We will talk. We will discuss.”

Monteiro has since made it clear that he will bring his own goalkeeper coach from Mozambique, saying he has worked with him from the time he graduated into coaching.

The contract for the Mozambican has an option for a one-year extension.
