Former Zimbabwe Castle Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum have made their intent clear ahead of the new season by hiring Darlington Dodo as the first assistant coach.
A statement from the Harare-based club says Dodo has joined Platinum from Gunners FC and will work under head coach Norman Mapeza.
“FC Platinum Welcomes Darlington Dodo, as he joins the technical team as the First Assistant Coach! With expertise and passion, he's set to elevate our team's performance towards meeting our targets in 2025,” the statement reads.
Dodo is a respected coach in the Zimbabwe football circles after steering unfancied Gunners FC to the Premier Soccer League title in 2009. He also managed Caps United in 2019 before jumping ship seasons later for a fresh adventure at ZPC Kariba after securing a caretaker role.
He registered three wins, one draw, and one loss in the final five games of the 2023 season before he was handed a permanent contract. Dodo joined Green Fuel FC as an assistant coach to Rodwell Dhlakama in the second half of 2023.
