Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka has received praise from coach Frank Lampard, who has revealed the impact the player has brought to Coventry City in the ELF Championship.
The Super Eagle moved to Coventry from Premier League outfit Brentford on transfer deadline day in February and has been part of a winning side in all four of his appearances so far for the Championship leaders.

Since arriving, Onyeka has featured in all four of Coventry City’s matches, with the Sky Blues maintaining a strong run of results during that period. Lampard explained Onyeka’s experience at the top level was a major factor behind the decision to bring him to the club.
“When we recruited him the playing profile was different as we are quite light on Premier League experience,” Lampard told BBC CWR.
“Not many of our players have been exposed to the Premier League, some other Championship teams have lots of exposure to the Premier League.
“So, there’s an experience about it, a knowhow in his game but he’s been a big impact on and off the pitch for us. His professionalism is really good and he’s clearly come in and helped our upturn in recent weeks.”
Ahead of their trip to face Bristol City on Saturday, the Chelsea legend delivered an update on Onyeka, who picked up a knock in the EFL Championship 2-1 victory against Stoke City at the CBS Arena last Tuesday.
“He (Onyeka) hasn’t trained much this week but he’s due to train today (Friday) so, we’ll see how is for tomorrow (Saturday).
“We’ll see how he is out there. He’s been great for us and it’s nice to see that link with the fans who respect a player who gives everything for the team and who has helped improved us.”
Coventry City will travel to Ashton Gate on Saturday as they continue their push for promotion to the Premier League.
