Nigeria national team midfielder Frank Onyeka is reportedly uncertain where he will ply his trade ahead of the 2025/26 footballing season.

Onyeka, who is signed to English Premier League side Brentford, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Bundesliga club Augsburg. The 27-year-old is set to rejoin the Bees this summer with no option or obligation to buy included in the loan deal.

Onyeka struggled for regular playing time before leaving Brentford on loan last summer. The London side are yet to name a new head coach following Thomas Frank’s departure for Tottenham Hotspur.

The former FC Midjtylland player said in an interview that he will wait for a new manager to be appointed before taking a decision on his future.

“The aim right now is to go back to Brentford. I don’t know who the new coach is. So I have to speak to him to know what is going on. And then, we can take it from there.”

Onyeka signed for Brentford in July 2021, marking the club's first signing upon their promotion to the Premier League. Since then, the Nigerian defensive midfielder has made 75 appearances across all competitions for the Bees.
