67-year-old French-Bosnian coach Faruk Hadžibegić has submitted his application to lead the Tunisia national football team according to Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM.
Hadžibegić has managed several clubs in France, including Sochaux, Troyes, Valenciennes, Red Star, and Bastia. He also had stints in Turkey and with Algerian club MC Alger.
Most recently, Hadžibegić coached the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team last year. The coach agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with the Bosnian team following three consecutive Euro 2024 qualifying defeats to Slovakia, Portugal and Luxembourg.
Currently, Kais Yaakoubi serves as the interim head coach for the Carthage Eagles following Faouzi Benzarti's departure. Under Yaakoubi's leadership, Tunisia secured qualification for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-2 victory over Madagascar in the fifth round of qualifiers.
