The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially confirmed the date for the highly anticipated final of the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
In a document released by the FUFA Competitions Department on 14th May 2025, FUFA extended congratulations to the four semifinalists and announced that the grand finale will be held on Saturday, 31st May 2025, under the lights at FUFA Stadium – Kadiba, with kickoff slated for 6:00 PM.
“We encourage the qualifying teams to prepare accordingly,” read part of the statement. “More details and arrangements will be shared with the finalists after the conclusion of the second leg of the semi-finals.”
The four semifinalists still in the hunt for Uganda’s most prestigious domestic cup include defending champions Kitara FC, Vipers SC, KCCA FC, and FUFA Big League surprise package Kataka FC.
From the first leg encounters, Vipers SC carry a narrow 1-0 advantage over Kitara FC heading into the return leg scheduled for Saturday, 17th May at Butema Stadium in Hoima. Meanwhile, KCCA FC are firmly in control with a 3-0 lead ahead of their second leg clash away to Kataka FC in Mbale.
The eventual winner of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup will not only claim national bragging rights but also secure a slot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
However, if Vipers SC—who have already sealed the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title with a game to spare—also lift the Uganda Cup, the CAF Confederation Cup slot could potentially go to the second-placed team in the league.
