Fulham declares Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi fit to face Brentford

Fulham manager Marco Silva has remained confident that Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi will be fit and available to feature when they face Brentford in a Premier League fixture at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Heading into the matchday five clash, Iwobi was being considered doubtful having been subbed off in the76th minute of their last assignment against Leeds United in a game they won 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

‘Iwobi trained this morning’

“No fresh news, some knocks, but nothing serious. Nothing to change anything special,” Silva told reporters ahead of the game. “[Alex] Iwobi trained this morning, no serious problem. Let’s see his reaction. We took care of him.”

Iwobi has so far featured in all the four opening matches, creating one assist but is yet to find the back of the net. He signed for Fulham in 2023 for an undisclosed fee, and made his debut as a 62nd minute substitute in a 1-0 win over Luton Town.

He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win at Norwich City in the third round of the EFL Cup on 27 September. His first Premier League goal for Fulham arrived in a 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage.
