Galatasaray tables contract offer to Raphael Onyedika

Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly presented a contract to Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika as the club looks to bolster its squad.

However, they are yet to make a formal offer to Onyedika’s Belgian team Club Brugge but the personal terms are reportedly agreed between the player and the Turkish side. In January, the Turkish giants tried to sign the defensive midfielder but fell short of Brugge’s valuation of the player.

The Nigerian moved to Belgium three years ago for a fee of around €9 million and is reportedly keen to take the next step in his career and play at a higher level after making an impression with Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.

Onyedika, who has also been linked with Premier League club West Ham, wants to take his game to the next level, while Club Brugge hope they can make a handsome profit on the player.

Reports suggest that Club Brugge values Onyedika in the range of €20-30 million, a figure that has also attracted renewed interest from English Premier League club West Ham United who sees the Nigerian as a potential replacement for Edson Álvarez.

Should Onyedika depart, Club Brugge are now better equipped and they have already brought in midfield reinforcements in Ludovit Reis and Aleksandar Stankovic.
