Galatasaray vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoğlu is confident that the Turkish Süper Lig champions will secure a permanent deal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Having completed his loan spell at the Turkish giants, Osimhen has become a transfer target for a number of top clubs across Europe. Recently, reports were suggesting that he rejected a €75 million move to Saudi club Al Hilal.

“We are negotiating with Osimhen, but there are offers from other teams. Galatasaray have also made an offer. The chances of Victor staying are increasing day by day, but the negotiations are long,” Hatipoglu told Spanish outlet AS via Sportmediaset, as quoted by allnigeriasoccer.

“We have the budget to guarantee his permanence. Last year, when Osimhen was offered to us we didn’t need a striker, but his name was so important that we closed the deal in two days.”

He added: “Abdullah Kavukcu, head of transfers, is managing the negotiations together with agent George Gardi. It won’t be easy, but with each passing day, the chances of him staying at Galatasaray increase.”

While on loan at Galatasaray last season, Osimhen helped them to win the domestic double of the Turkish Süper Lig and Turkish Cup. He featured 30 times in the league, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists.
