Gallants release 11 players, including ex-Chiefs and Pirates stars

Marumo Gallants are undergoing a significant squad shake-up ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, announcing the departure of 11 players.

Among those leaving Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are former Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango and ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi.

The club confirmed that nine player contracts will not be renewed for the upcoming season. Additionally, Junior Dion and Yanga Mjoli will return to AmaZulu FC after their loan spells concluded.

The full list of players whose contracts will not be renewed includes: Dino Ndlovu, Ibrahima Aminata Conde, Kenneth Nthatheni, Theodore Siyabulela Shai, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Gabadinho Mhango, Kopano Lehlohonolo Thuntsane, Vusi Sibiya, and Daniel Akpeyi.

This also marks a surprisingly short two-month stint for ex-Bafana Bafana striker Dino Ndlovu.

“The club sincerely thanks these individuals for their contributions during their time with Gallants and wishes them all the best in the next chapter of their football journeys,” said club spokesperson Sello Nduna.

He added, “Marumo Gallants FC extends its appreciation to both players for their efforts during their loan spell and wishes them continued success. The club is currently working on building and introducing new players to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.”
