Marumo Gallants FC have swiftly moved in to replace winger Daniel Msendami, who has joined fellow Betway Premiership side Orlando Pirates in the top-flight league of South Africa.
The Bloemfontein-based team has announced the signing of attackers Ivorian Romaric Dognimin Ouattara, Zambian Emmanuel Mwiinde and South African Msindisi Kunene ahead of the Premier Soccer League (PSL)’s resumption.
In a statement, Gallants confirmed the new arrivals, saying they were meant to fill the gap left by the departure of Zimbabwean Msendami to Pirates. Mpho Tshabatsane has also been released from the club.
“In addition to bolstering the squad, Marumo Gallants FC confirms the release of two players, Daniel Msedani and Mpho Tshabatsane. The club thanks them for their contributions and wishes them success in the next phase of their careers,” part of the statement reads.
Gallants praised the qualities of the 21-year-old Ouattara, who has joined from Algerian side Olympique Akbou, describing him as “a powerful striker, standing at 1.90m, and brings promising attacking potential to the Gallants frontline.”
The statement further said the 25-year-old attacker Mwiinde has vast experience, having featured for clubs such as Hatta Club, Masafi Sports Club and Al-Salam SC in recent seasons, contributing goals and assists across competitive leagues.
On the other hand, Kunene is a 24-year-old winger who has joined Gallants from fellow Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC.
Gallants have since hinted on more signings, saying they are “evaluating further targets to strengthen the team” ahead of the match against TS Galaxy on January 21 at Mbombela Stadium.
