The Gambia national team coach Johnathan McKinstry has named a 23-man squad for their two international friendlies next month.
The Scorpions will be against Equatorial Guinea on June 6th before battling the Cranes of Uganda three days later. McKinstry's 23-man list includes twelve debutants in the squad and only six of the players have played for the Gambia before the Northern Irishman took over as Scorpions coach.
The squad is largely a youthful side which will afford him an opportunity to test new players ahead of the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
Abdoulie Manneh, Youssoupha Sanyang, Musa Jatta, Alagie Wally, Goalkeeper Jordi Bilal Danso, Muhamadou Drammeh and Zakaria Sawo received their maiden call-up while Muhammed Sanneh, Baboucarr Gaye, Adama Sidibeih, and Alagie Saine returned to the Scorpions.
The Swedish Allsvenskan is well represented with four players including Allsvenskan sensation Abdoulie Manneh (Mjällby AIK), Jesper Ceesay (IFK Norrköping), Zakaria Sawo (Djurgården), and Youssoupha Sanyang (Öster).
