Geny Catamo curls in a beautiful strike as Sporting CP march to victory

When Geny Catamo scores, it is always a highlight moment and Saturday’s goal was no different as Sporting CP had no issues earning three points with a 3-0 result at Moreirense in the Liga Portugal.

The Mozambique national team superstar curled in a stunning strike to double the visitors’ advantage in the 56th minute. Former Barcelona and Wolves attacker Trincão previously put the reigning champions ahead only a few minutes earlier.

Colombian striker Luis Suárez finished off the victory in the 75th minute for Os Leões, who are locked in a fierce battle with usual rivals FC Porto and Benfica to defend their league title. Porto currently lead Sporting by one point with Benfica four points back in third place.

Eliminated from the UEFA Champions League at the main phase, the Lisbon club can focus all their efforts on domestic competitions. Next up is a home match next Friday against Estoril in the league before the first leg of their cup semifinal against Porto.

Catamo now has 7 goals and 4 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
