Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Mas Ud Didi Dramani has indicated that, his charges are yet to reach their full potential in terms of match-fitness.
The Phobians defeated Heart of Lions by 1-0 courtesy Ransford Mensah’s well taken free-kick in the opening game of the 2025 GHALCA Top Four tournament at the Legon Stadium on Wednesday.
It was a second straight win for the record FA Cup holders against Heart of Lions after nailing them by 2-0 to retain the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Notwithstanding the two consecutive wins, coach DidiDramni still believes there is more work to be done on players’ fitness level.
“Where we are, we need to share game minutes and across the squad and it is important not to dose players out of the range where they have reached, we have not reached a level where we can go deep ninety minutes,” Didi Dramani.
“Sometimes we are forced to push the players beyond those minutes and I think that scientifically it is unacceptable. We will try to make sure that we graduate the dosing element.” He added.
Hearts of Oak will next play league champions, Bibiani Gold Stars in the second match of the competition at the Legon Stadium on Friday August 22.
