Hearts of Lions’ quest to improve on their 1-0 home win over Eleven Wonders last week was pegged back by Bechem United in week 20.
The Kpando based club suffered a 1-0 loss at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday, a result that left head coach Bashir Hayford seeking answers to their unimpressive performance in the ongoing campaign.
“Unfortunately the same coach, the same players and the same everything but all of a sudden it went off, we have tried everything to search for the reason but [it’s been difficult,” Bashir Hayford said.
“If you have the same set of players, the same backline, the same midfield, the same attack and they go eight matches without a win it’s difficult.
“So it means if we had not started well, it would have been a problem. We started well, played eleven matches and lost one and so from the eleventh game then we started experiencing the dip but that is also part of football.
Heart of Lions have now gone ten matches, recording just a win in those fixtures and Bashir Hayford wants to quickly remedy the situation before the end of the season.
“And so we are trying to get the answers and then maybe we will get it before the end or we might postpone it to next season.”
Heart of Lions’ dip in form has seen them drop to 7th on the league table with 27 points from 20 matches and they have a mountainous task in week 21 at home against record league holders Asante Kotoko on Saturday, January 31.
