Ghana Premier League: Bechem United appoint veteran coach Kobina Amissah

Ghana Premier League club Bechem United have appointed veteran tactician Kobina Amissah as the club’s head coach.

The experienced coach has been hired to replace Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway whose service was dispensed with on Monday, November 3 following strings of poor performances.

The Hunters have only managed one win in eight matches, drawing three, and losing the other four leaving them in 16th on the league table.

The announcement has been made with coach Amissah starting work immediately to turn things around for the struggling side.

“The wait is over! The experienced gaffer KOBINA AMISSAH is now officially at the helm as our Head Coach!

“Let’s welcome him and get ready for an exciting journey ahead,” Bechem United announced in a post on X.

His rich coaching experience includes stints at lower tier side Home Stars, Bibiani Gold Stars, Samartex, Nzema Kotoko, Elmina Sharks and Berekum Chelsea, Sekondi Hasaacas and New Edubiase United.

He has successfully guided multiple teams from the Division One League to the Ghana Premier League including Berekum Chelsea (2009), Sekondi Hasaacas (2013), Elmina Sharks (2016), and Bibiani Gold Stars (2021).

Coach Kobina Amissah’s challenge will w to guide Bechem United in their week 9 fixture against Young Apostles on Sunday, November 9.
