Ghana’s senior team’s female forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah is brimming with joy following her brace in Nottingham Forest’s big win at Sunderland last weekend.
Boye-Hlorkah was on the double as Nottingham Forest put 3-1 scoreline past Sunderland in the English Women’s Super League 2 last Sunday.
The 30-year-old struck a beauty in the first half when she controlled a well cut out pass from Chloe Mustaki with her chest before weaving past an array of Sunderland fenders to fire into the roof of the net with just 19 minutes into the fixture.
Forest increased their tally through Aimee Claypole’s easy tap-in from close range in the 31st minute after a goalmouth scramble to close the first half at 2-0 for the visitors.
Sunderland grabbed what would be a consolation in the 69th minute from the effort of Emily Scarr as Boye-Hlorkah’s second on the day iced Forest’s cake with three minutes to end proceedings.
Boye-Hlorkah said after the game: “I’m glad, I said to myself before the game that I need to start scoring my goals and getting back on the score sheet and assisting.
“And so today to get two goals I’m happy and definitely to get the win comes up to the table and that’s what we say, we just keep pushing, keep building and see what happens,” Boye-Hlorkah told Nottingham Forest TV.
The 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalists has now scored four goals in 10 league matches this campaign, pushing Nottingham Forest into 5th on 15 points from ten league games.
