Ghana head coach Otto Addo has reacted to his team's 4-0 whitewashing of Trinidad and Tobago in the third place game of the 2025 Unity Cup.
Addo said: “In general we got a lot of answers and it’s also good to look for the future and I think some of the boys used the chances. They did really well and surely we will continue to observe them and for us we played well in the last World Cup qualifiers."
“We will observe and see how they do in their clubs and like I said, today I’m very satisfied,” the head coach said after the game.
The Black Stars dominated the Caribbean nation from the onset, firing three unanswered goals into their net in the first half at the GTech Community Stadium in London on Saturday.
Captain Jordan Ayew opened the flood gates inside fifteen minutes before Nations FC defender Razak Simpson and Union Saint Gilloise forward Mohammed Fuseini each scored their national team debut goals each to cap a clean first half.
Lawrence Agyekum, who recently made his move to Cercle Brugge permanent, nailed Trinidad’s coffin after slicing in Gideon Mensah’s assist in the 57th minute.
The result earned the four time African champions bronze after missing out on the finals with a 2-1 loss against Nigeria in the opening semifinal game.
The Black Stars have two 2026 FIFA World Cup duels against Chad and Mali in September and the Unity Cup was an exercise to shape up for the impending assignment.
