Djiku made 38 appearances for José Mourinho’s club in the 2024/25 season. The former Strasbourg Alsace player has vast experience in France’s Ligue 1, having made over 200 appearances. According to L’Équipe, French outfit Lille is targeting Djiku as a potential replacement for either Bafodé Diakité or Alexsandro Ribeiro. The two center-backs could leave the northern France side as they have suitors across Europe.
Spanish side Villarreal lost Cape Verde international Logan Costa to a serious long-term injury and are planning to bring Djiku to La Liga. Serie A side Roma are also interested in acquiring the 30-year-old’s services.
Djiku has been targeted by many Ligue 1 clubs in 2025. He has been a full Ghana international since 2020.
