Eleven Wonders gave their survival chances a glimmer of hope when they beat Dreams FC 2-0 in the week 12 Ghana Premier League fixture on Monday.
Wonders have endured a torrid start to the current campaign, dispensing with the services of two coaches, Nii Odartey Lamptey and veteran Josef Emmanuel Sarpong.
Ahead of the week 12 fixture, they appointed Emmanuel Aidoo who steered them to the 2-0 victory over Dreams FC, their first in the campaign at the Legon Sports Stadium.
Speaking in his post-match interview, coach Emmanuel Aidoo admitted to the tough challenges at the club but remained confident of their survival.
“Winning against Dreams FC is a great feeling. You know, today is my birthday, so I told my boys, and they asked me what I wanted. I told them to win this match for me, and that’s what they have done.
“The celebration ends right here because where we are sitting on the league table is not good. We will put these three points somewhere, and we will push for more points in the upcoming games,” Coach Emmanuel Aidoo said.
Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon shared his disappointment after his team’s defeat to Eleven Wonders, a result that left them in the relegation zone.
“In some parts, the result is a true reflection of the game. We had some pockets of chances, but unfortunately, we didn’t take the chances. They took their chances; they scored one in the first half and a second one in the second half.
“This is a very disappointing performance. This is not the result we rehearsed for. We need to pick the positives from this game and look forward to the next game,” Winfred Dormon said after the game.
Eleven Wonders currently sits bottom of the league table with six points with Dreams fc in 16th on 11 points at the end of Week 12 of the campaign.
