The Ghana Football Association has appointed Nations FC head trainer, Kassim Mingle Ocansey as the new head coach of Ghana’s senior B team, the Black Galaxies.
The announcement of the experienced trainer was made on Wednesday, September 10 – a move that is geared towards reshaping the fortunes of the home based senior national team. Ghana missed out on qualifying for the last edition of the Championship for African Nations [CHAN], losing 3-0 against Nigeria over two legs.
The statement read: “The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Kassim Ocansey Mingle as the new Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, Ghana’s CHAN Team,” a statement from the GFA said.
The former Bechem United coach will be assisted by an equally experienced backroom staff that includes Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu, ex-Ghana international and coach of Attram Di Visser Godwin Attram. Ex-international and Heart of Lions keepers’ trainer, Stephen Ahorlu will be in charge of the goalkeepers
Meanwhile, former Black Stars Team Manager, Henry Martey, will serve as Welfare Officer of the Black Galaxies, with Justice Kofi Mensah and Francis Ofori acting as Kit Managers.
