Asante Kotoko booked their place in the last 16 of the MTN FA Cup following a hard fought 1-0 win over King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
The defending champions qualified for the next phase after Saaka Dauda’s late first half goal gave them a victory against their local rivals.
Kotoko are looking to return to continental competition after failing to go past the second qualifying stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, where they suffered a 6-1 aggregate loss to Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco in October last year.
