Ghana FA Cup: Medeama rekindle hostilities with GoldStars

Ghana Premier leaders Medeama SC will turn attention to the MTN FA Cup round of 32 when they host reigning top flight champions GoldStars on Wednesday at the Tarkwa TnA Park

The Mauve and Yellow sit on top of the premier league table on 34 points with GoldStars following closely on 32 points from 17 matches.

Head coach of Medeama, Ibrahim Tanko is looking forward to qualifying for the next round of the competition with a win over GoldStars.

“It’s like we are playing our second half, last week we played them so definitely not much will change and we are eager to go to the next round so we are doing everything possible to go to the next round,” Ibrahim Tanko told MEDi TV.

Medeama goalkeeper, Yakubu Saeed spent some few minutes to share his thoughts on the game.

“Preparation is great and we are ready for them. We are well motivated and if you look at the demeanour of the players it speaks volumes about our readiness for the game.

“If you look at the premier league table, they are behind us with just two points and they will come in hard but we are also ready to face them because we are playing at home.”

There are other fixtures for the round of 32 that will be cleared on Wednesday. Holders Asante Kotoko will host Division One side King Faisal in a local derby.

Premier League side Heart of Lions are home to Division One club Na God FC, with Tamale City welcoming Karela United. Swedru All Blacks will complete the first batch of fixtures for Wednesday at home to Sefwi All Stars.
